Jenna S. Hynes, MD, FACOG

Fertility Specialist

Dr. Jenna Hynes is a distinguished Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) specialist at Atlantic Reproductive Medicine. Born and raised in New England, Dr. Hynes then spent her formative teenage years in Switzerland. Dr. Hynes was drawn to medicine after an inspiring high school experience observing a liver transplant in Zurich.

Her academic journey began with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Boston College. Knowing that she wanted to go into medicine, she aimed to understand patients holistically, a pursuit that proved foundational for her future career. Her interests in both physiology and psychology led to a clinical research role at Boston Children’s Hospital where she contributed to studies on congenital heart disease and its implications during pregnancy, her first introduction to the field of OB/GYN.

Dr. Hynes earned her Doctor of Medicine from Emory University School of Medicine where she was deeply involved in volunteer work at a Women’s Health Clinic, providing care to underserved women of Atlanta and further solidifying her future in reproductive medicine. Following medical school, Dr. Hynes completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Duke University School of Medicine, during which time she received numerous accolades for teaching excellence and recognition for exceptional patient care.

Her passion for building families and reproductive autonomy led her to a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York. While at Columbia, she excelled as a fertility clinical specialist while also dedicating herself to performing research on the factors affecting embryo implantation and pre-implantation genetic testing. She has made significant contributions to the field, publishing extensively in renowned reproductive medical journals and authoring a book chapter in the Textbook of Assisted Reproductive Techniques.

Dr. Hynes is dedicated to helping couples achieve their family-building goals through compassionate and personalized care. In her clinical practice, she is committed to advancing patient care in fertility preservation and has a special interest in the management of congenital uterine anomalies.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Hynes enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children. Of all the places they lived together throughout her training, it was their time at Duke that called them back to the Triangle to lay down their roots. Dr. Hynes incorporates her career in medicine with a love for her family. Together, they spend much of their time outside at the playground and playing tee-ball in the backyard. In her personal time, she enjoys fitness (she has run two marathons) and wandering through bookstores.

We are delighted to have Dr. Hynes as part of our physician team at Atlantic Reproductive Medicine. Her diverse background, extensive training, and multifaceted experiences come together to create a talented and compassionate approach to patient care that contributes to our mission at Atlantic of building families together.
